~ 89.1% agree mental illness is an illness like any other and 86.8% agree virtually anyone can become mental illness.
~ 41.5% of participants agreed that people with mental health problems are far less of a danger than most people assume.
~ 46.7% felt that people with severe mental health problems can fully recover.
~ 74.4% agree that the best therapy for many people with mental illness is to be part of a normal community.
~ 30.5% felt that most people with a mental health problem go to a healthcare professional for help.
有關建議
~ Leverage on social contact is likely to have a positive impact on attitudes and behaviors, adverts, newspaper articles, and other forms of media coverage are prime platforms to include every day, relatable individuals, and influencers talking about their own mental health problems, an effective way of catalyzing this effect.
~ Younger individuals, and those with a higher level of education, are likely to fulfil this ‘subconscious stigmatiser’ category. These groups and individuals could be targeted specifically, as part of any overall campaign strategy.
