主要數字、結果撮要 | ~ Many more girls reported suicide ideation at the higher levels, and many more boys reported no suicide ideation. Suicide ideation level: 72% Male students reported no suicide ideation, 22% (thoughts but no intent), 4% (expressed intent) and 2% (serious intent). 49% female students reported no suicide ideation, 39% (thoughts but no intent), 7% (expressed intent) and 5%(serious intent) (p < .0001). ~ The stressors (parental variables, family relationships, peer acceptance, school, health, triad pressure and emigration) and C-BDI (i.e. depression index) scores predicated 33% of the variance in suicide ideation. ~ In boys, most of the prediction was attributable to C-BDI scores, suggesting that depression mediated the effects of stressors. Suicide ideation in males was predicted by depressed mood, R2= .35, F (1,498)=265.83; p=. 001. ~ In girls, C-BDI scores, perceptions of low parental caring and high conflict with parents had additive effects in predicting level of suicide ideation. The prediction from the regression equation containing these three variables was significant at p=. 001, R2= .30, F (3,491)=69.01; p=. 001. |
