~ Hong Kong Students’ Local Civil Knowledge: With 68% of the sample falling into Proficiency Level 2, it shows that Hong Kong students’ local civil knowledge is moderate.. Comparing to the highest difficulty Proficiency Level 1 and lowest difficulty Proficiency Level 3.

~ Identity: Chinese with agree 86.5%, Hong Kong Chinese with 83.3%, Hongkongers with 91.1%, global citizen with 86.1%.

~ Nation First: Chinese first other than local region with 55.8%. Students’ connection to local region 70.2% with nation at 29.8%.

~ Duty to Nation: Agree “citizen have the duty to love China” with 78.9%, 36.0% agree that “citizens should be willing to sacrifice their lives for their country” and 57.1% agree that “the nation’s needs have something to do with my own life goals”.

~ Emotional attachment to the Nation: 80.3% students agree they “ love the country”

~ Chinese People: 72.5 % students agree that “Chinese people are more united than other peoples in the world.”

~ Teachers: 45.3% agree “promoting knowledge of social, political and civil institutions as the most important aim.”, 50.2% “strongly agree” “ the greatest responsibility for civil and citizenship education” with a total 60.2% agree. 33.5% schools said they accessed civil citizenship education.
