研究名稱Correlates of Sexual Behaviors with Health status and Health-Perception in Chinese adolescents: A cross-sectional survey

~ 4.69% of the respondents claimed to have had sexual intercourse experience. The male are peaked at the age of 17 while the female student peaked at 18.

~ Within the experienced group, 16.94% reported having experience of sex without consent (forced sex); majority in boys (52.38%).

~ Those who had had sex were likely to have health problem (consult doctors in the last months or last six months before survey), perceived poorer and deteriorating health.

~ Female students with sexual behaviors were 6.07 times more likely to attempt suicide than the other group and were more likely to take sick leave.

~ The sexual behavior group was likely to be participated in violent behaviour. In male group, 42.56% participated in the violent behaviour compare to 13.16% of the unexperienced group; in female group, only 2.65% of the virgin participated in the violence compared to 15.17% of the experience group.

~ Parental education and occupation, place of birth and type of housing were found not correlated with the initiation od sexual behavior.
