| 主要數字、結果撮要 | ~ 32.7% of respondents endorsed at least one form of deliberate self-harm behaviors in the previous year. The most prevalent self-injurious behavior was “severely scratch oneself to the extent that scarring or bleeding occurred,” reported by 10.4% of the participants.
~ The occurrence of self-injury was about 1.3-times higher among female students in comparison with male students (OR = 1.32, p = .01) ~ The risk of suicide in adolescents whose parents were remarried with other persons was 2.53-times (p < .001) higher than adolescents from intact families. ~ Higher academic and school competence was associated with lower occurrence of self-harm behaviors (OR = 0.79, p < .001). ~ There was a negative relationship between participants’ overall positive youth development and the occurrence of self-harm behaviors; the higher the positive youth development, the lower the risk of self-harm behaviors (OR = 0.72, p < .001). |
| 有關建議 | ~ Develop evidence-based prevention strategies for DSH and suicidal behavior in Chinese adolescents.
~ Involve units that target at improving various family factors in designing relevant prevention/intervention programs. ~ Investigate which factors and how they affect the adaption of immigrant youth and prevent them from various risk behaviors in future research. |
