主要數字、結果撮要 | ~52% of students (and 62.4% of non-schooling youth) reported having anxiety symptoms and around 42% of students (and 57.6% of non-schooling youth) reported having depression symptoms. ~There is a positive association between stress arising from political life events and adolescents’ mental distress (β=.175, t=6.489, p≤ .001). ~Social support is a crucial factor conducive to the creation of meaning (r = .316, p ≤ .001) amid environmental risks and stresses (r = .120, p ≤ .001) among young people. ~There was no association between the stress arising from political life events and adolescents’ life satisfaction; yet, an interaction effect could be found between the stress arising from political life events and youth empowerment in the community on life satisfaction (t = 2.764, p ≤ .01). |
有關建議 | ~A comprehensive needs assessment mechanism to aid in the exploration of young people’s needs (immediate, short-term, and long-term) and the design of a tailor-made mental health and support program with young people. ~Individual counselling service, crisis intervention, therapeutic groups and mutual support groups for young people with mental distress. ~Both basic and advanced training programs for helping professionals to equip themselves with attitudes, knowledge, and skills in helping young people on both casework and group work levels. ~Training programs for teachers and social workers to learn how to provide multifaceted mental health preventive and education programs with students and non-engaged youth ~Publications of evidence-based intervention and prevention manuals for knowledge transfer. |
