主要數字、結果撮要 | ~ Overall, the satisfaction of surveyed children in Hong Kong with their lives as a whole was high: the people they live with (median: 9 out of 10), the home where they live (median: 9 out of 10), their friends (median: 9 out of 10), their life as a student (median: 8 out of 10), the area where they live (median: 8 out of 10), and their time use (median: 9 out of 10). ~ Bullying at school remains a significant issue in Hong Kong. Being called unkind names by other children in school (37.5%) is more prevalent than being hit by other children (15.3%) or being left by other children in school (16.3%). ~ Children in Hong Kong struggle to successfully have their voices heard. In their families, 63.4% either “agreed a lot” or “totally agreed” with the statement ‘My parents listen to me and take what I say into account’. In their schools, 67.7% either “agreed a lot” or “totally agreed” with the statement ‘My teachers listen to me & take what I say into account’. ~ 32.4 % reported a high agreement (6 out of 10 or above) with the statement that they felt ‘sad’ over the last two weeks. 49% reported a high agreement (6 out of 10 or above) with the statement that the felt ‘stressed’ over the last two weeks. ~ There is generally a significant variation in the answer between 10- and 12-year-olds, with the latter generally being less satisfied with their lives. As such, the mean score of the Children’s Worlds Subjective Well-being Scale for 10-year-olds (81.2) being significantly higher than for 12-year-olds (72.7). |
